Jonathan Safran Foer
Jonathan Safran Foer made his first series of prints in collaboration with Sam Messer at the Neiman Center in 2014. He returned in the winter of 2020 to produce three new screenprints with hand-additions: Little Word Mountain I and II and Word Mountain Range. For these prints, Foer used an image of a nineteenth-century landscape as the foundation upon which to build his own image created completely from layers of handwritten text.
Foer is an American artist and novelist best known for his novels Everything is Illuminated, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, Here I Am, and for non-fiction works including Eating Animals. He teaches creative writing at New York University.
